Still going through the previous gowith recordings, as we await the final master of the latest recording session. The new gowith, which was recorded to tape at Zero Return by Jim Marrer and mixed and mastered completely to tape in the analog domain, should be in our hands any day now. Until then, here’s our last one, captured live at Sunbrimmer Records in Avondale Estate, GA.
Four bitter pills to ingest…
Isn’t it obvious by now? gowith were prophets in 2012.
A successful foray into the void, where a film (that I cannot recall) was playing minus sound, which we instantly provided, forgetting where we came from and not worrying about where we were going to.
The latest recording by my ambient drone guitar duo gowith is now available. It’s an EP called Four Glooms Pharmaceuticals, and it’s the third recording that I’ve done with my friend from Atlanta, GA Marshall Marrotte. It’s the second time we’ve used electric guitars, rather than strictly going acoustic.
The basic tracks were recorded live utilizing only two small guitar amps, and two reverb/delay pedals (Earthquaker Devices‘ Dispatch Master and Afterneath). We wanted to keep the setups clean and simple. The four tracks on the EP are full of reflective, ambient texture . . . and are perfect for a rainy day spent lying in the infirmary, staring out the window and frantically pressing your pain med button.
Feel free to give it a listen and download the EP. Each download comes with 5 alternate album art files.
And check out the video for the first track “Mediocratine.”
